SAF (Student Athlete Force) Program 2013

January 6th – 11th 2014,

3 of JAQ Student Athletes were sent to APSC Singapore to train under the supervision of Mr. Ang Peng Siong, founder of APSC and Singapore swimming legend himself. The partnership between JAQ and APSC has been on since the past few years. SAF was initiated in 2011 to support and appreciate the swimmers who also have outstanding academic performance during the academic year. in 2012, JAQ sent 5 swimmers to its club partner in Perth, Kirby Swim.

Yonathan Condro, Dania Fathroen and Jeremia Condro were the selected SAF award recipients in 2013. The objective of SAF is to encourage swimmers to stay in school while they spend most of their time practicing in the pool.  Champions also need to study, especially when it comes to preparing for their future. INAMasters back from Penang Masters 2013

INAM-Penang

As the flight landed at Soekarno-Hatta airport in Jakarta, the whole team of INAM happily smiled with lots of laughs during the flight. Yes, team INAM completed their 2nd International Masters meet after its 1st in Singapore Masters last October.

Grabbed 2 Golds, 12 Silvers and 4 Bronzes, team INAM seems quite content with it. “We are not aiming for the world records and even medals to begin with. Masters is about having fun, making friends and most importantly, stays in healthy lifestyle as most of us are grown up adults with professional day jobs”,  Wisnu Wardhana, Team INAM Head Coach.

INAM has been the only Masters community in Indonesia for the past years that has been actively promoting the Masters Swimming activities. It also affiliated with other sports communities such as cyclist and runners. Its members also coming from different nationalities: US, Australian, Dutch, New Zealand, Italian, Singaporean and many others.

INAMasters, stands for Inter-Nationals Aquatic Masters has been established by JAQ Swimming Indonesia as part of its commitment to create healthy lifestyle through aquatic activities for the society. “I was a swimmer myself, and i am joining INAM simply to swim and have some fun by practicing and traveling together with my teammates in INAM. We go to masters meet not to solely getting medals, some of us are even new to swimming and they simply just need to win by completing the race in “1 piece”, we are not athletes, we are simply a masters swimmers” Susmono Soetrisno, INAM Swimmer who loves to smile and enjoying every meets

INAMasters pioneered Masters Swimming in Indonesia!

With its small but solid team, Team INAMasters (IM) grabbed its first International swim meet ever with 8 gold’s, 3 silvers and 1 bronze medals. INAMasters was established in early 2013 by JAQ Swimming to introduce Masters swimming in Indonesia.

As the first Masters Swim Team in Indonesia, INAMaster’s vision is creating healthy lifestyle trend through swimming and its mission is making everyone swim.  “We don’t create masters swimming champion here, but we train and teach them how to enjoy swimming properly through healthy lifestyle. They all already winners by opting to stay active and healthy”, add Wisnu Wardhana, Executive Head Coach and masters swimmer of INAMasters.

INAMasters team consists of different professional backgrounds and levels. Lawyers, professors, doctors, bankers, house mom, teachers and more. Almost all of our swimmers have their own activities during weekdays, and they are full time swimmer on most weekends.

In Singapore Masters 2013, INAMasters competed with 200 other masters swimmers from 13 countries, Mostly are from Singapore, USA, Australia, and Japan. “Getting Medals are bonus, main goal is to finish the race in one piece! And foremost, I had fun after so many years been wanting to participate in a Masters event like this” add Mono Soetrisno, Director of an Indonesian oil and gas company who bagged 2 Gold’s in Singapore Masters 2013.

LISCA Junior 2nd series – May 11, 2013 UPH Aquatic Center

With AIS Piranhas as defending champion winning the 1st series of 2013, they are looking to defend their series title with JIS Aquadragons eyeing to create good challenge this weekend.

LISCA Jr is the top Primary and Secondary School aquatic league in the country. There are few strong teams also participate in the series: CIKAL IB School, Mentari International, Mahatma Gading, Global Jaya and many more to come.

LISCA Jr. 2nd Series participants are estimated in 35 schools from JABODETABEK area with nearly 300 swimmer participating
